February 24, 2020:
I first encountered the idea of "Kaizen" when I was fresh out of college and began working for Fidelity Investments. "Kaizen" was actively spoken of there.
Kaizen is a concept referring to business activities were you continuously improve all functions and involve all employees from the CEO down to all of the other employees.
This idea of "Kaizen" has been spoken of in many different ways. The attached meme is an Oliver Wendell Holmes quote that expresses it this way:
Success is not the position where you are standing, but which direction you are going.
Much of what defines the direction you are going is found in the things you learn along the path. You will make what seems to many as "mistakes", but if they are handled in a way to increase learning, they are not mistakes. They are an education. And education is worth paying for.
